My friend Greg Barlin sent me an email regarding the thundercats, Season 1, on dvd. It was so funny I decided to post the contents for you all to see. Thanks for the email G – it made my day:

A friend let me let me borrow “Thundercats: Season 1″ on DVD last week. I remember liking it as a kid — certainly not my favorite, but a Top Ten cartoon of my childhood. I loved Snarf, followed closely by Panthro. Well, I watched a couple of the episodes…and a few things jumped out:


1) Snarf is incredibly annoying. Not just mildly annoying…INCREDIBLY annoying. I wanted to grab him by his cute white whiskers by the end of the first episode and shake him. HARD.

2) The theme song is surprisingly catchy. I think we can all sing the Transformers theme song (in fact, Ben and Saurab and I were after seeing the preview for the live action Transformers prior to Rocky). Most of us can probably sing G.I. Joe (“a real American Heeerroooo…G. I Joe is there-ere -ere”). But can you sing Thundercats? I couldn’t, but I sang it for most of the rest of the day. Not because it’s great, mind you, but just because it gets lodged in your skull. Thundercats are on the move…Thundercats are loose!

3) Lion-O has a vagina. I know. Shocking. In the first episode, the Thundercats are naked until Jaga gives them clothing for their trip. I was casually checking out Cheetara’s nakedness when BAM!… Lion-O stands up and there is a DEFINITIVE CREVICE.

I thought I must be seeing something, but it was confirmed later in the Episode 1 when he attempts to lift the sword with the Eye of Thundera in it. As he’s straining, his mangina is clearly visible again. This was undoubtedly my most disturbing observation since a) I noticed and b) it makes him the most manly female lion/human of all time! I’m attaching pictures as proof. You be the judge. I’m so confused.

Note: It looks like the sword of thundara is giving lion-o his very first orgasm.

    nah . .that’s liono. . but since he’s a house-trained fur-bearing mamal, he probably has his lipstick tucked away until he gets older and cheetarah teaches him how to launch the red rocket.

    haha agreed. liono probably has some fur down there to disguise his genitalia LOL
    or maybe the artists just thought it would be innapropriate to draw his plums.

    either way. it is a bit wierd that you noticed but hey i would have too probably.
